OA Special Notice
Are you a current paid member of Lakota Lodge, or do you just wear the patch from several years ago. As many of our units' thoughts turn to re-chartering, the Executive Committee of the Lodge would like to remind all Arrowman and Unit Leaders of the following items:
·
To be a member of the Lodge you MUST be a registered member of the Boy Scouts, in 2002 alone over 300 people who were not current members of the BSA were removed from the OA Charter.
·
Dues of $10 for your 2003 dues are due to the NWSC service Center by December 31, 2002 to be considered an active member. And after February 1st, 2003, to be considered active you will need to pay the $10 regular dues and a $10 late fee. This was done to streamline the registration process for all Lodge members.
·
The OA Troop or OA Team Rep Position should not be a give away job. Like the SPL or Scribe and the other troop positions, this leadership position HAS responsibility with the job. In 2003, The Lakota Lodge will make a better effort to inform Scoutmasters of the activity of these Scouts holding these jobs. If your Scouts are using this towards Eagle or other ranks, they need to do the job.
Any questions concerning these items can be directed towards Matt Skelly Lodge Staff Advisor at 847-824-6875 or mskelly@bsamail.org.
