Boy Scout Klondike

Fun! Adventure! Scout Skills! Points! Awards! Join Our Blackhawk Iditarod Adventure. Overcome challenges along the trek through the frozen “Alaskan” Wilderness. Rescue friends from dangerous situations! Save a town! Drag race your Patrol's hand-built Klondike sled! Be a hero and win the…Points!

Staged at scenic Camp Lakota near Woodstock, Illinois, the 2003 Klondike promises ample opportunity to practice cold-weather Scout skills in a supervised setting. Patrols will guide their Klondike sleds from Town to Town along the Iditarod trail, meeting the Town Mayor and Alderman of each Town and performing feats of skill, teamwork and imagination.

While Saturday-only participants are welcome, all participating Patrols are invited to camp overnight.

Registration and Costs

Turn in the Registration Form by the December 10th Roundtable, but no later than December 20, 2002. Costs are $8 per participant: for Scouts, Scouters and Leaders.

Requirements

This is a Patrol Event. Participating Patrols must bring a hand-built Klondike Sled, appropriate cold-weather clothing and camping gear, and all meals as described in your packet. See the page on Retort meals for instructions on Saturday lunch. Bring your Scout Skills and Scout Spirit. Be Prepared!

Packets were handed out at the November Roundtable. For more information contact the Boy Scout Klondike Chair, Kerry Chambers at (847) 824-4845 (please leave a message!) or email at kchambers@randmcnally.com Spacer
