2003 promises interesting changes for Camp Napowan

Besides the creation of the Blue Goose High Adventure Base, a complete review of all programs offered at Napowan is being conducted by senior staff members who have been contracted to come back for next year. Improvements to all areas of the camp are being planned. Also, construction of several new facilities including the showerhouse on the East side of the camp have been completed and will only serve to enhance the experiences of those attending the camp.

A preliminary meeting for Napowan attendees has been set for January 4th, at the Elgin High School beginning at 10:00 a.m (Additional information can be found on the Lakota Dancer info flyer in this month's edition.) to present the plan for Napowan 2003. Invitations will be sent to all units who have signed up but all interested in finding out about Napowan 2003 are encouraged to attend.

Camp Staff Interviews for all interested persons, youth and adult, are being scheduled for the week of December 30th. If you know a youth, age 14 or older, who is interested in working at Day Camp, Resident Camp, or at Camp Napowan, or know of an adult looking for a way to fill that summer void, encourage them now to submit their camp staff application to the Council Office. Applications can be obtained online at nwsc.org or by contacting the Council Program Office at 847-635-9404. Spacer
