Changes to TOUR PERMITS and processing policies have been made. ·

Effective January 1. 2003, at least one of the leaders participating in ALL unit outings needs to be current with Youth Protection Training. ·

Local Tour permits will only be required for activities that take place more than 20 miles from a unit's normal meeting location OR include an overnight camping trip. ·

Tour permits will not be required for participation in District or Council sponsored events (i.e. Camp-o-rees, Summer Camps, etc.)

A reminder that despite these changes, unit leaders are reminded that although a Tour permit might not be required, all standards must be maintained as specified in the Guide to Safe Scouting. This includes the use of seat belts, insurance coverage, leadership requirements, and much more. Spacer
