2003 Philmont update
Well the planning is off and running for the 2003 Northwest Suburban Council Philmont trek. Some 60 Scouts and Scouters will make the journey to “Scoutings Paradise” in July of 2003. The Contingent will be lead by the youth leadership with the advice of Contingent Leader Robert Crabbe. This trek is truly Scouting in action. The councils Trek involves scouts from all four districts and several Troops and Crews all melting into one group from Northwest Suburban Council.
Also the Contingent has requested that if anyone has a used pack that is in good condition and may want to part with it, let Robert Crabbe know and he can be contacted at blahblahblah@blahbla.com or 847-000-0000.
2004 Philmont news
Attention all Boy Scout Troops and Venturing Crews. Make note that on February 3, 2003. The Northwest Suburban Council will start taking reservations for the 2004 Council Trek, which will take place from Sunday July 11, 2004 till Friday July 23, 2004. Any Troop or Crew is allowed up to 6 (six) spots to be held by a non-refundable $100 Deposit per person. The maximum for the Contingent will be 60. So get your reservations in early or you might miss this chance. After February 24th, 2003 any remaining spots may be picked up by units wishing for more than the allowed max of 6 (six).
It is important to remember that the council contingents were first formed to give the Philmont experience to those scouts who might not get the opportunity to go to Philmont because their individual troop may not be large enough to support a full crew of 12 or may not yet be old enough, or time factors with their unit going. If you have any questions regarding the Philmont Trips or Contingents, please contact Matt Skelly at 847-824-6875 or mskelly@bsamail.org or Marty Schultz at 847-824-6880 or mschultz@bsamail.org.
