Trained Leaders Are The Best
Picture if you will a parent attends a rally night so their son can join Scouting. There aren't enough den leaders so they sign up as a new Tiger Cub Den Leader. This new leader wakes up in the middle of the night wondering what happened. But never fear, the pathfinder training team is here. Many new leaders attended the outstanding training courses offered by the District this fall. If you need more information on getting trained, for Boy Scouts contact – Bill Cohn – 847-985-4625, and Cub Scouts- Phillip Levsky 847-843-0720.
Webelos Camporee
On October 4th, a boat load of Webelos set sail for the Morris Boy Scout Ranch to participate in the High Seas Webelos Camporee. They brought hammers, saws, drills, for projects and went on a treasure “dig”. Skits were fantastic at the Campfire and all the buccaneers had a great time. A big thank you goes to Ken Sommers and staff for a great time.
Boy Scout Camporee
Did anyone have a “Clue” about what this was all about? Many Scouts attended this Fall camporee at Camp Sol R Crown and found all the clues they needed. Troop 399 put on a spectacular event centered around the game of Clue and found out who did what, with what to who. They also ran obstacle courses, constructed a rope bridge, and learned orienteering and compass. Thanks to Bill Kelly and troop 399 fun was had by all.
