Scouter of the Month
As this is the month of the Districts pinewood, it is fitting that North Woods recognize Jim Scanlan as the Scouter of the Month for April. Jim is chairing the Pinewood for his second year and while this to some is a great undertaking; Jim would say this is one of the “fun” things he gets to do. Jim holds many titles, his favorite probably being Dad, for son Jimmy, and daughter Maggie; husband of Marge would be a close second. In the scouting world, Jim loves his job as Ass't Scoutmaster for Troop 401 as he gets to do the fun things on campouts. With the District Jim is the Vice-Chairman of Membership, a big job he will tell you. But Jim, as in all he does, accepts the job and gets results. Jim has been active in many capacities with in the Scouting world ranging from Den Leader and Webelos Den leader, one year for a Den with out his son in it, Troop Committee, District Cub Scout Activities Chairman, Window Display Coordinator, and WOW Co-Chair in 2001. Jim's boundless enthusiasm is seen by many and by inspiration he leads many more. Jim Scanlan and is on of the reasons North Woods District is nothing but great. Congratulations Jim on all you have done and all you will continue to do for North Woods and Scouting.
