Troop Committee Training
This ONE SESSION training program is designed to help ALL CURRENT AND FUTURE troop committee members better understand their roles and responsibilities. This training will also enable troop committee members to support the troop, the Scoutmaster and scouts.
Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters are also encouraged to attend.
There are three opportunities this fall for you to attend. Locations TBA, all times are 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Cost is $8 per person, which includes great snacks and a Troop Committee Guidebook.
Units can send as many people to this course as desired.
Course session is limited to 32 participants per date.

It's never too early to start planning ahead! Northwest Suburban Council announces Okpik Cold Weather Camping Training for Troop Leaders, Senior Scouts, Troop Trainers Ages 14 & Up
This Train the Trainer program will provide you with the knowledge and materials to conduct winter camping training within your units. This program covers the skills and techniques that must be learned and the planning that must be done to ensure a successful, fun, and safe cold weather camping experience.
These include physical preparation, clothing, food and water, sanitation practices, first aid and emergency procedures, shelter and shelter building, methods of travel in snow, and making equipment.
Cold weather camping mistakes can be deadly. The skills learned in the Okpik Program will make cold weather camping an enjoyable, safe Scouting experience. Visit the Okpik website at http://www.nwsc.org/okpik/ for upcoming information!
