Be Prepared For the First Aid Meet!

Shouts of "Call 911!" are echoing in troop meetings throughout Northwest Suburban Council.  Troops are brushing up on their first aid skills preparing for the annual First Aid Meet.  The First Aid Meet will be held Saturday, December 13th in the Barrington Middle School at Station Campus Barrington.   The event will get underway at 1PM.

Boy Scouts will be tested on first aid skills they have learned while, advancing from Tenderfoot to First Class (see the Boy Scout Handbook), earning the First Aid Merit Badge (see the First Aid Merit Badge book), or from studying the Boy Scout Field Guide.  Scout Patrols of 6-8 boys will be involved in treating victims in various first aid scenarios.  A written quiz will also be given to each patrol to act as a tiebreaker.  A trophy and ribbons will be awarded to the patrols that are best prepared for emergencies.

Troops may register more than one patrol for the event.  Details and forms for registering may be found on the council website, announcements will be made at Round Table meetings or call the council office for more information.  Cost for the event is $5.50 per scout.  Scouts may bring a sack lunch to the event.
