Blackhawk Hoedown!
2003 Blackhawk District Dinner
Ya'll are invited to the District Dinner Hoedown. We'z gunna
be chowing down on some fixins, listenin' and dancin' to some good ol' country
music, and passing out some of that recognition stuff to all those hard workin'
folk in the Blackhawk District. You be
sure to mark down on your calendar March 7th, (that's a Friday
night, now) and be there at 7 PM. We'll be kicking up our boots at the Moose
Lodge, 6419 Chestnut Street, in Morton Grove. Y'all don't have to get all
purdied up real nice, cuz we'll be lookin' for that down home look. (No
uniforms)
Now this ain't no free barn dance, ya' know. But, we think,
$15.00 a person is the best deal in town. There's a cash bar for beverages and
y'all better turn your reservations in early, cause we only have room for 180
of ya'll

Start your engines! It's time to start thinking about Pinewood Derby!
We are in the process of making major changes to the
District Pinewood Derby. We are going to be at a new location and with a new
format.
Starting this year we will have four different derbies, one
for each rank (Tiger, Wolf, Bear and Webelos) with the winners qualifying for a
Championship Round. Each Pack can qualify three participants from each of the
four ranks for the races, and three participants for the design competition,
for a total of 15 participants.
Considering the increase in size, we will need volunteers to
help! Each pack is required to provide adult volunteers. We would like to have
as many of the volunteers come forward in advance rather than being drafted
during check-in. We also need volunteers to help with set-up and
take-down. We are also still looking
for Packs to volunteer their Race Tracks.
The basic race and design rules have not changed.
Pre-registration is required and the deadline is April 8th,
2003.
No walk-ins will be allowed.
Date: April 26, 2003
Registration: 9:30
AM
Race begins: 10:30
AM
Location: Friendship
Junior High School
550 Elizabeth Lane, DesPlaines
