Wood Badge Training http://www.nwsc.org/training/woodbadge.shtml Troop Committee Training This ONE SESSION training program is designed to help ALL CURRENT AND FUTURE troop committee members better understand their roles and responsibilities. This training will also enable troop committee members to support the troop, the Scoutmaster and scouts. Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters are also encouraged to attend. All, new and experienced, Scoutmasters, Asst. Scoutmasters, Troop Committee Members, outgoing Webelos Leaders and Parents are invited to attend both Scoutmaster/Asst. Scoutmaster Specifics and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills. Both of these courses are required for any Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster to be considered “TRAINED.” Currently those Leaders that have completed either Scoutmastership Fundamentals or Boy Scout Leader Training (BLT) are considered “TRAINED.” You should consider refreshing your knowledge in the next couple of years. Springinsguth, Schaumburg Cost: $20 (includes snack, lunch and Scoutmasters Handbook) Course Objective: This is the new Scoutmaster and Asst. Scoutmaster's training. The program covers the responsibilities, opportunities, and resources that will ensure a successful troop leadership experience. Springinsguth Schaumburg Weekend May 2nd 6 PM – May 4th 4PM Camp Lakota, Woodstock, IL Cost: $30 (includes cost of all food for the weekend) You must attend both the Patrol Meeting and the WHOLE Weekend to complete the course. Please note the 4 PM end time on Sunday, May 4th Course Objective: To teach the outdoor skills necessary for Boy Scout first class rank. This will be a “hands on” course and will cover the skills of ropes/knots/lashings, cooking, wood tools, first aid and nature. Webelos and Venture leaders are also encouraged to attend to learn outdoor skills. Equipment: The current edition of the Boy Scout Handbook is required at all sessions. Equipment list will be provided at the patrol meeting. Menu and money for patrol food will be provided at the Patrol Meeting. Personal equipment, tents and eating utensils are the responsibility of the participants. All gear must be able to be carried into site. Questions?
