LFL Scouter of The Month
Jeffrey Riemer
Fireman June 1, 1983 to present
Jeffrey has been involved in scouting for approximately 10 years. He was a pack leader for approximately 3 years, Exploring Post Advisor with the Niles Fire Department 6 years and an adult leader in Boy Scouts, working with his son for 3 years.

Jeffrey became involved with Exploring after talking with some parents that said their son was in a lot of trouble, until the young man became an Explorer with a fire department. The boy “cleaned up his act”, and has been doing very well since then. After hearing this story, he felt that if he could help young adults the same way, he should start the program with the Niles Fire Department. Jeffery set up the Niles Explorer program with the support of NWSC and the Niles Fire Chief. The Explorers are involved with hands-on classroom sessions, public education and fundraising. Jeffery also heard about the NWSC popcorn sale and that no Explorer Posts were involved with the fundraiser. The Niles Fire Post agreed to try selling popcorn and they have had great success! The Northwest Suburban Council thanks Jeffery Riemer for his sincere dedication and service.
