Chicago Fire to Host Scout Nights

The Chicago Fire Major League Soccer Team is hosting two more Scout Nights this season with tickets available at discounted prices on August 9th and September 6th at North Central College in Naperville. Order forms are available at the Council Service Center or by contacting the Chicago Fire at 312-705-7230 or 312-705-7231. All Scouts in attendance receive a 2003 Chicago Fire patch and order must be received two weeks prior to the game date.

Flyers Games Return this Summer

The Schaumburg Flyers are hosting two Scout nights again this summer on Wednesday, July 9, and Tuesday, July 29. For the bargain price of $7.00 a ticket ($1.00 more if you want a 2003 Scout Night patch) this is one of the best entertainment values in the Chicago area! Pre-game activities include autograph sessions, a Scout parade around the warning track, and a Flyers memorabilia drawing. More information and registration forms are available on the council web site at www.nwsc.org.

Think Popcorn

It may seem early to start thinking about the fall popcorn sale, but plans are already in the works for new products, new prizes, and new programs.

Does your unit's sale need a boost? A new feature this fall will be the “Race to Win” Kickoff Saturday on September 13. Participating units will gather at a pre-determined site of their choice (maybe your usual meeting location?) on Saturday the 13th and mobilize for a door-to-door sale in order to blanket the area around where your unit is located. Scouts will return to the meeting location at a designated time. The top seller for the day will receive a remote controlled car on the spot for his efforts.

The product line-up will feature two new items, including a “Southwestern Sampler” containing jalepeno, salsa, and nacho cheese popcorn.

The full popcorn program will be rolled out at district roundtables in August, and orientations will be held on September 3 (Hilldale Golf Club), and September 4 (Bristol Court in Mount Prospect).
