Results—Outstanding!
A very special thanks to all the troops and participants
that helped make this year's Klondike very successful, at Camp Crown in
WI. Troops 335, 96 and 48 put together
the 2003 Klondike and the Signal Hill District appreciates your efforts and
leadership. There were roughly 155 boys
and 50 adults in attendance as they "roughed it".
Signal Hill
District Recharter Clinic
This year's Re-Charter Clinic will be on Sat. April 12 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. Phillip's Episcopal Church 342 East
Wood Street in Palatine.
Bring
your signed charter, any signed membership forms, and a blank check. Make sure
the Charter Organization (Institution Head) has signed the charter, the adult
applications and that your Unit Committee Chair has also signed adult
applications!
If you already have reviewed your paperwork with a
commissioner, you can use the Clinic to turn it in to the registrar with your
check. At the April Roundtable there will be an opportunity to reserve
your time slot.
SIGNAL HILL MERIT
BADGE CLINIC MARCH 1, 2003
Signal Hill District will be holding their annual
Merit Badge Clinic on Saturday, March 1, 2003 at the Rolling Meadows Community
Center, 3705 Pheasant Drive, Rolling Meadows (9:00 a.m.). All Scouts are invited to visit with a merit
badge counselor and have the work they have done approved and signed off.
Please realize that this clinic is not the time to work on
badges but rather to have the work that has been done discussed with a
counselor and consequently signed off.
Scouts are reminded to bring with them whatever materials or projects
were necessary in completing the requirements of a given badge. They must also bring the properly signed
merit badge card. The current merit
badge book may prove useful as well.
If a scout would
like to finish up several badges that he has worked on, that too can be
accomplished at the clinic. It is
strongly suggested that Scouts arrive no later than 11:45 so that every
opportunity can be given to visit with the counselors. Our goal is to complete all interviews by
12:30 so that our volunteers can fulfill other plans they might have that same
afternoon. A concession stand will be
available to all to help keep smiles on everyone's face while they wait their
turn.
As in the past we have held three "Safety"
seminars and will do so again this year.
Safe Swim Defense will be held 10:15 -10:45 a.m.; Safety Afloat will be
held 10:45 - 11:30 a.m.; Climb on Safely will be held 11:30 a.m. - 12:30
p.m. All will be held in the
Multi-purpose room of the facility.
AND…..
All will be preceded by our NEW addition to the
seminars! YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING
will be offered from 9:00 - 10:15 a.m.!!
So Adults, bring those scouts with you!
It is a win-win situation for all!
Look for a flyer at Round Table, which will list the badges
we anticipate to be represented at this year's clinic. We are looking forward to approximately 45
badges, including many Eagle required ones.
Signal Hill thanks you for participating in the past and
looks forward to helping even more
Scouts at this year's clinic! It is a great opportunity!
DON'T MISS OUT!!!!
