FALL SCOUT RECRUITING SUCESSES------
1075
new Scouts recruited by Units in the first two months. This is Awesome, but there are a few more things to
do. There are still applications that
are being held and they need to be turned in.
Bring them down to the Council Service Center, take them to your D.E.,
or bring them to roundtable, -----but get them in. A Scout is not a Scout until his registration is in.
Many Units held an extraordinary Recruitment Night
by having props, refreshments, Pack articles, Pack and Den pictures and
scrapbooks, played games, showed the new youth their brag vests, and mostly
shared with new families the fun and excitement they are going to have in
Scouting. Thanks go out to those Units
that went that extra mile and had a great recruitment. The Urlacher Patch has been a success with
new Scouts and those Scouts who had their friends join their Pack.
Make sure to follow up and call the boys that couldn't
attend the rally night to sign them up at a Den or Pack meeting. Units always receive calls from kids that
cannot make the Rally night but want to become a Scout. It is our duty to contact them right away
and sign them up.
Boy Scout Troops
- THERE IS STILL TIME TO RECRUIT!!!!!
Just think of all the sixth grade boys who won't join Scouting
because no one took the time to explain the great adventure that awaits them. If your Troop is interested in having a rally
night, contact your District Executive.
We will flyer the School, do the Boy Talks and all you have to do is sign
up new Scouts. Doesn't that sound
great? The other way to recruit is Boy
to Boy recruiting. This year Scouts can
earn a Brian Urlacher Collectors patch if he brings in one or more new
Scouts. He can ask a friend, tell his
classmates, or just recruit at his school.
Scoutmasters remember to let your Scouts know of this opportunity and if
you need a Patch to show your Scouts, let us know.
If you haven't turned in the new applications, please do
so immediately. This is important for
insurance to be in effect and for the new Scouts to receive their Boy's Life
magazine. This fall was great in
welcoming Thousands of new youth into the Scouting program. Let's deliver the promise and give them a great,
fun filled program all year.
