PHILMONT TRAINING CENTER
Philmont Training Center is nestled in the foothills of
the Sangre de Christo Mountains of northeastern New Mexico near Cimarron. Rich in history and natural beauty, this
area offers exciting educational experiences for the entire family. A variety of weeklong conferences will be
conducted for unit, district, and council volunteers. Each conference features the latest tools, audiovisuals, and
techniques led by a faculty of experienced Scouters. The conference schedule permits ample time for family activities,
day hiking, and recreation. Philmont
staff will lead hiking, tours, handicrafts, and outdoor activities. A weeklong Mountain Trek for youth 14-20
will also be offered.

What is
SUPER SCOUTER SATURDAY?
It is an
exciting new one-day training event for all
adult Scouters.
It is an
extravaganza of supplemental training to meet the needs and fit the interests
of experienced, new, and perspective leaders.
It is an
opportunity to share ideas, increase knowledge and improve skills. Northwest
Suburban Council invites you to Super Scouter Saturday (SSS) to take advantage
of a GREAT training experience.
From Tiger
Den Leaders to Venture Crew Advisors to Committee Chairs, whatever your
experience or
position, SSS
has something for you. We are offering many Boy Scout Trainings (Youth
Protection Training and safety courses, including Safe Swim, Safety Afloat, and
Climb on Safely). You can also enjoy Outdoor Cooking Skills, Leatherwork, Knots
and Ropes, crafts and games. Committee members can check out sessions on
Paperwork, Finance/Fundraising, and Advancement. SSS is not a

for basic training but a chance to enhance your knowledge and the program for
the boys
(and
Venture girls, too).
WHY KNOT
