Prepared For the Signal Hill District First Aid Meet!
Shouts of "Call 911!" are echoing
in troop meetings throughout Northwest Suburban Council. Troops are brushing up on their first aid
skills preparing for the annual First Aid Meet. The First Aid Meet will be held Saturday, December 13th
in the Barrington Middle School at
Station Campus Barrington. The event
will get underway at 10 AM.
Boy Scouts will be tested on first aid skills they have
learned while, advancing from Tenderfoot to First Class (see the Boy Scout
Handbook), earning the First Aid Merit Badge (see the First Aid Merit Badge
book), or from studying the Boy Scout Field Guide. Scout Patrols of 6-8 boys will be involved in treating victims in
various first aid scenarios. A written
quiz will also be given to each patrol to act as a tiebreaker. A trophy and ribbons will be awarded to the
patrols that are best prepared for emergencies.
Troops may register more than one patrol for the event. Details
and forms for registering were passed out at the October Roundtable and may also
be found on the Signal Hill website http://units.nwsc.org/users/signalhill/ Announcements will be made at Roundtable meetings.

Cost for the event is $5.50 per
scout. Lunch will not be provided but Scouts may bring a sack lunch to
the event.
