Important Cub Scout Fall
Round Up Update
It's Fall
Round Up time and Signal Hill District has been very busy getting new kids in
Cub Scout Packs. This year we ask that you please take advantage of the free
Brian Urlacher Cub Scout patch, by turning in your applications right when you
have them completed. This helps our
Registrar with quick processing of your new boys so they can participate in the
great adventures of your pack.
Remember,
as more Cub Scouts continue to register with your pack, up through October 15th,
when you turn in your completed applications at NWSC, your new boys will
receive the free Urlacher patch. PLEASE
continue to encourage your registered Cubs to ask their "non Cub Scout" friends
to join and the "recruiting" Cub Scout will ALSO receive a free Urlacher patch.
We are
asking that all packs highly consider getting another round of flyers into the
school/s you serve to gain more boys. By gaining these additional Cubs and aparents,
this will allow packs to maintain a strong parent/Leader and youth base, for
future years after you move up to a Troop.
This is very important for future pack success, especially if your pack
had a small turn-out at your Fall Round Up. Signal Hill District Director, Pete Stikovich, can easily have
another round of flyers printed for you and will get them distributed in the
schools. Pete has had successful
experience working with Administrators and schools are very open to additional
flyers being distributed. Please contact Pete to go over the details for your
flyer. You can simply have new boys attend your next pack meeting and not add
another meeting night to your pack's schedule. Contact Pete Stikovich at (847)

Cub Scout
Whooporee Is Right Around The Corner!!
Don't forget to registrar soon for the 2003 WHOOPOREE!! A mailing recently went out to registered
Cub Scouts in Signal Hill, so please remind your pack's members to reply soon
to get in on the fun. The Whooporee
date is Saturday, October 18th and Sunday October 19th
and the Whoop Committee has been working very hard to "repeat their
performance" and make this another year of the best fun there is in Cub Scouts
in the great Signal Hill District. Council
Camp Lakota is our location and will be very fun! Registration forms were also
distributed to packs at the September Roundtable. Please be advised that Tiger Cubs (1st grade boys) are
highly encouraged to attend the January 17th Tiger Time Fun Day, and
they aren't invited to participate in the Whooporee. Whooporee is designed for older Cub Scouts.
