Cool Outings - S.C.U.B.A. Fun!

S.C.U.B.A. Fun! S.C.U.B.A: Self-contained underwater breathing apparatus. If you’ve ever been Scuba diving before, I’m sure you had a blast. Venturing Crew 98 hosted a Scuba adventure at the Palatine Y in January. We started out by watching a movie showing Scuba vacation fun and then watched a video outlining Scuba safety.

After the videos, we walked to the pool and the instructors told us how to put on our oxygen tanks. The tanks were heavy and it kind of hurt our backs, but as soon as we got in the water, the tanks were as light as air!

We lined up by height and were told to get into the water one at a time. Our instructor told us how to go under and pop our ears. When we reached the bottom, we were free to swim around. We played with a mini-torpedo and the water Frisbee, and a few people took pictures of us underwater. It felt and looked like everyone was moving in slow motion under water, and I thought that it must be pretty amazing to go Scuba diving in the Caribbean. It was great fun and I would definitely go again. Thanks Chicagoland Scuba and Crew 98!.
