Scouter Of the month
“It’s really not what you have acquired in life, but who you have positively inspired!”
That’s the final thought that Bob Galassi attaches to all of his email messages. Bob has made it a practice in his life to always try to “inspire”. That’s been his goal in Scouts, in youth baseball, in his involvement with the Knights of Columbus, and in his church.
For the last four years, Bob has served as the Scoutmaster of BSA Troop 175 in Niles. Before his involvement with the troop, Bob wore the Cubmaster hat for Pack 175 – also for four years. He’s earned numerous training awards, the Blackhawk District award of merit, has served as District Roundtable Commissioner, and Scouting for Food district chairman for four years. Bob’s completed his Woodbadge training, and is working on his doctorate in Scouting at Lord Baden-Powell University. This summer he’ll test his legs as a member of the Council contingent headed to Philmont. Bob and his family are long-time members of St John Brebeuf Parish in Niles where Bob is an usher and serves on the Parish Council. He is a past Grand Knight within his local Knights of Columbus council, and four times has been awarded “Knight of the Year”. Bob’s son Bobby is an Eagle Scout who’s been recognized for administering emergency first aid to an injured fellow Scout. On top of all that, the Niles Chamber of Commerce recently recognized Bob as its “Citizen of the Year”. We proudly salute Bob for all of his hard work and “inspiring” so many people. |
