Scouter of the Month - Tom Nelson

The Northwest Suburban Council is proud to acknowledge Tom Nelson as our April Scouter of the Month. Tom is our “man behind the website.” He and business partner Roberta Hamann own Byte Me Computers in Mount Prospect. They supply an entire server for the Northwest Suburban Council website and all of the free district and unit sites. Tom maintains the Council website on a daily basis, and also does the lay-out for Northwest News. All of this is a donation to the Council of Tom’s remarkable time, talent, and resources!

Tom also is also a volunteer with Troop 23, American Legion Post #525, Mount Prospect. He is an active Troop Committee member as well as the Troop’s Outing Coordinator. Tom also serves as a Merit Badge Counselor for several Merit Badges. In his free time, Tom helps out as a member of the Scoutmaster Specifics, Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills, Okpik and Wood Badge staffs. Tom has earned the Boy Scout Leader Training Award and he has been a Brotherhood Member of the Order of the Arrow since 1992.

The next time you visit www.nwsc.org, remember to thank Tom Nelson for all of his hard work! Thank you, Tom, for your dedication to Scouting!
