Scouter of the Month - Bill Goffinski

Bill Goffinski is a pretty good golfer, but with his full-blown Scouting agenda, Little League coaching, and a remarkable commitment to community service, it can’t be easy for Bill to find time to hit the links. But then, Scouters know how to budget their time and set priorities.

Bill started his involvement in Scouting as a youth, and rose to the rank of Life Scout. When his sons joined Cub Scouts, Bill jumped back into Scouting as an adult leader. He served as a Tiger Coach for a year, a Den Leader for four years, Pack 100 Cubmaster for two years, and Pack Committee Chair for two years.

In Boy Scouts, Bill is currently serving as Scoutmaster for Troop 392 after two years as an ASM and two years as Committee Chair. Bill is a counselor for six merit badges, he’s been to Philmont, and is the Pathfinder District’s current Vice Chair of Membership.

His resume of community service goes beyond Scouting. Bill served two years as Fairview School PTA President, was Publicity Chair for Friends of the Gifted in School Districts 54 and 211, has been a Little League Coach for 10 years, and served on the Board of Directors of the Tropicana Swim and Tennis Club. In between all that, Bill finds time for work as a foreman for Cimco Electric for the past 14 years.

Bill and his wife Pamela have two sons – Alan, an Eagle Scout who is attending college, and Curtis, a Life Scout who is in high school and is Troop 392’s Senior Patrol Leader. Congratulations to Bill as our Scouter of the Month.
