Scouter of the Month - Mike O'Malley
Mike has been involved in scouting since his youth. As a father he saw to it that his sons continued the tradition. Mike has been involved since the early nineties and a registered leader with Troop 36 since 2000. Mike has provided leadership to the troop as well as the crew and was asked to help run the district as the District Chairman, a position that he held for almost three years.
Mr. O’Malley owns his own travel agency and has donated tens of thousand of dollars and services to the Northwest Suburban Council. Particularly working to coordinate and plan the travel for the last three National Jamborees as well as working with the council’s annual Philmont contingents, and delegations to the Boundary Waters and National Sea Base. Mike most recently has worked with the council nominating committee to find and fill key council level positions. Mr. O’Malley is a great friend of the scouting movement and has worked behind the scenes for many, many years to bring the great program to our kids. It is with great honor that we name Mr. Mike O’Malley our Scouter of the Month. |
