Scouter of the Month - Cheryl Burke Blackhawk District is honored to present Cheryl Burke as the August Scouter of the Month. Cheryl currently serves as the Committee Chair and Webelos Den Leader for Pack 14 in Des Plaines. The Pack Chartering Organization is the Forest School PTC. As an involved leader Cheryl also acts as an assistant for Troop 304 and Troop 305 at the Des Plaines based Golfview Development Center. Along with her husband, Cheryl has co-chaired the very successful District Pinewood Derby for the past two years. Over the past Memorial Day weekend Cheryl served as the activity coordinator for Family Camp at Camp Napowan. Cheryl and her husband Rusty have two children, Kristofer age 19 and William who is nine years old. In June of 2006 Rusty and Cheryl added 19 year old Brian Taylor to their family. When she is not tending to her family and Scouting activities Cheryl finds time to work full time as a Project Manager for IBM in Schaumburg. Outside of Scouting Cheryl enjoys her family, camping, gardening, reading, traveling, fishing, boating, biking, museums, antiques and spending time with all of the terrific people she has met through Scouting.
