"Being a Boy Scout is the best thing ever…"

That's how the headline read for a recent "Letter to the Editor" to the Daily Herald written by Jimmy Miller of Troop 196 in Schaumburg. Jimmy told of his experiences at Camp Napowan and how much fun he and his fellow Scouts had there. He thanked his Scoutmaster for his volunteer service, shared his Troop's unique program experiences, and realized that in all of this fun that he and his fellow Scouts were learning new things.

This Fall, the Northwest Suburban Council, Boy Scouts of America has a unique opportunity --- to invite more boys (and girls) just like Jimmy into our local Scouting program. We have several opportunities for local youth. Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades starting with Tiger Cubs. Each and every Cub Scout Pack should provide an opportunity to join their program by becoming a Tiger Cub and having an active Tiger Cub Den as an entry level starter program. Your local District Executive can help you with fliers for distribution, school access, and roundup nights at local facilities.
